Coupon bonds for the State Lunatic Hospital at Taunton, 1851-1865.

Pursuant to St 1851, c 251, the state treasurer was authorized to issue scrip or certificates of debt to meet expenses incurred during the construction, in Taunton, of the second state lunatic hospital. Additionally, the treasurer issued scrip pursuant to St 1853, c 195 for completion and the furnishing of the hospital. Coupon certificates, issued in 1851 and 1853 and valued at $1,000, were due in 1865 with interest paid at five percent per annum.
